That’s the opinion of Arsene Wenger anyway.
The Arenal boss has stated that it is his belief that Cesc Fabregas, now of course plying his trade with Spanish giants Barcelona, will return to the Emirates stadium to end his career.
The Spanish midfielder left Arsenal almost 18 months ago to rejoin the club where it all started for him, in a deal which cost Barcelona £25 million.
The 25-year old has since gone on to make over 70 appearances for the Catalan club, scoring an impressive 23 goals in the process.
Speaking about his former captain, Wenger had this to say: “I’m not convinced Fabregas won’t come back here one day.”
“He’s an Arsenal man. He loves Arsenal. He watches every Arsenal game.”
Wenger added: “He won’t return in the next two or three years but, after that, maybe.”
I think it’s fair to say that the Premier League is a better place with a player of Cesc’s undoubted quality in it. It came as no surprise to see Fabregas leave north London to return to his boyhood club, but I am sure every single Gunners fan would take him back with open arms.
