With only 48 hours to go before the first Manchester derby of the season kicks-off, one player who will be wearing the red of United this weekend is in confident mood.
Wayne Rooney believes Sir Alex Ferguson’s men will have enough to see of their arch rivals Manchester City, claiming that it’s not just about who you buy and how much you spend.
When asked about Sunday’s clash with rivals City, Rooney has this to say : “What has happened at City must be pretty amazing for their supporters. It’s great for everyone in Manchester and probably in the Premier League too, because there’s another team now challenging.
“But we all know that it’s not just about who you buy and how much you spend. I’m confident we’ll see off their threat. We have the experience of winning big trophies and a manager who has been there, seen it and done it.”
I would have to agree with much of what Rooney is saying. City’s early season success has been good for the Premier League, however it would still be a huge surprise if they could manage to get anything at Old Trafford on Sunday. Anyway, I’m keen to hear what United fans (speaking of United fans, have a look at this guy) and City fans have to say on this. Please leave your comments below please.
Also, I’m sorry to brag, but I’m going to the game on Sunday!
