It would appear Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is resigned to missing out on Inter Milan midfielder Patrick Vieira to North London rivals Arsenal. Spurs have today been linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Mark Van Bommel.
Redknapp is desperate to add another midfielder to the ranks at White Hart Lane before the season starts in two weeks and Von Bommel is seen ideal candidate to arrive.
Van Bommel, 32, has spent three years with German giants Bayern, making nearly 100 appearances during that time. Before joining Bayern, the Dutch international played for several clubs including PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona, earning a reputation as one of the best holding midfielders in Europe.
I would love to see how Van Bommel would adapt to the Premier League. There is no denying his quality and I feel if Spurs were to sign him for the rumoured £5 million, they would be doing exceptionally well.
