It has been confirmed today that Klaas Jan Huntelaar has left Real Madrid for German side Stuutgart.
The Dutch international spent just six months at the Bernabeu, scoring 8 goals during his time with the Spanish giants. It’s fair to say that Huntelaar, 25, never really settled in Madrid and as a result, has now decided to move on.
Huntelaar’s career with Real Madrid got off to the worse possible start when the club decided not to include him in their Champions League squad, instead opting to include Lassana Diarra.
Huntelaar was strongly linked with moves to the Premier League in recent weeks, with both Arsenal and Tottenham understood to be keen, however today’s news that he has signed for Stuttgart will come as a blow to both North London clubs.
I personally would have loved to see Huntelaar playing Premier League football next season because I rate him very highly. No matter where he has been he has scored goals so I’m sure Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp are a bit disappointed with today’s news. It will be interesting to see who Arsenal and Spurs switch their attentions to now, so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest.
