With Emmanuel Adebayor on the verge of joining Manchester City, Arsenal Wenger will no doubt be on the look-out for a replacement.
One name that just keeps coming up is that of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Moroccan international has already stated that he would be delighted if a chance to move to Arsenal did arise. The 25-year old had this to say : “Arsenal would be a dream. If they were to come calling, I would certainly give them a positive answer.”
Chamakh has made over 220 appearances for Bordeaux, scoring 53 goals in the process. It is understood that Arsenal will have to cough up just £7 million to meet Chamakh’s buy-out clause.
From what I did manage to see of Chamakh last season, I must admit I was quite impressed. As most of you will know, Bordeaux won Ligue 1 last season and there is no doubt Chamakh played his part. I personally think Chamakh will be an Arsenal player before the end of the month and for £7 million, I feel he will prove great value for money.
