Stats Zone: Cadden invincible as Forest Green beat Crawley Town

Nicky Cadden claimed a hat-trick at home against Crawley Town, as Forest Green won 6-3 (2-2) in the England League Two. Jamille Matt, Mathew Stevens and Jake Young scored the remaining goals for the home side, while Crawley Town’s goals came through Hessenthaler and Appiah.

The hosts Forest Green started the match at pace and took the lead straight away early in the game. After only one minute Nicky Cadden scored.

Crawley Town equalised to 1-1 early in the match when Jake Hessenthaler made his mark as he scored in the 14th minute.

Forest Green took the lead again, when Mathew Stevens scored, in the 24th minute.

Crawley Town equalised to make it 2-2 after half an hour’s play as Jake Hessenthaler scored yet again. This time he found the net.

Straight after the break, Jamille Matt found the net and gave Forest Green the lead again.

In the 67th minute, Nicky Cadden netted, to increase the lead for Forest Green.

Nicky Cadden also scored in the 69th minute as he scored, and then completed a hatrick.

Jake Young increased Forest Green’s lead, in the 78th minute.

The goal that reduced the score to 6-3 came, when Kwesi Appiah scored a goal for Crawley Town. However, Crawley Town were unable to make more of an impression. The 6-3 goal was the last goal of the game.

With this win, Forest Green have four straight victories.

The last outing between the teams ended in a 0-0 draw, with Crawley Town at home in April 2021.

After this game in the England League Two, Forest Green will take on Port Vale (home) on 2021-08-28, Exeter (away) on 2021-09-04 and Northampton (home) on 2021-09-11. Crawley Town play Northampton (home) on 2021-08-28, Bristol Rovers (away) on 2021-09-04 and Carlisle (home) on 2021-09-11.
