Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder has been strongly linked with a move away from Italian giants Internazionale in recent days and weeks, with some of Europe’s elite said to be monitoring the situation.
However, in a shock twist this Thursday evening, there is increasing talk that Sneijder could well be on his way to … wait for it … QPR.
Yes, the bottom club in the Premier League are, according to reports, very interested in bringing the former Real Madrid man to Loftus Road, and there is even a suggesting that Sneijder has been in London today, meeting QPR keeper and former Inter team mate, Julio Cesar.
Sneijder, 28, was recently quoted as saying: “Clearly it’s best for everyone concerned that in January I am transferred.”
He added: “If that doesn’t happen then I will stay. I have a contract with Inter until 2015.”
There is no doubt that QPR need a big name player or two to come in if they are to remain in the Premier League and Sneijder certainly fits the bill. The London club have a lot of money, something with Wesley is a big fan of so this actually could be a goer.
Harry Redknapp is well known for his incredible negotiation skills when it comes to the January window, but if he were to pull off this one, it would really take the biscuit.
