Many thought that AC Milan would struggle when Kaka departed the San Siro last summer, however last night’s display from the little juicer Alexandre Pato, proved the doubters wrong.
Milan travelled to Madrid as 7/1 underdogs with the majority of bookmakers, however they left the Bernabeu with an impressive 3-2 victory to their names over money-bags Real. The man of the match was, undoubtedly, Kaka’s fellow countryman, Alexandre Pato, who bagged himself two goals on the night.
I must admit, I haven’t seen much of Pato over the last 12 months, however just from watching him last night, I now fully understand what all the hype has been about. The 20-year old was simply outstanding from start to finish and I think if he keeps that kind of form up over the coming months, Milan could go very far in the Champions League.
When I read reports earlier this year that the likes of Chelsea were preparing £50 million plus bids for the former Internacional man, I was slightly bewildered. I for one hope that one day, Pato will decide to move to England and ply his trade in the best league in the world, the Premier League.
