It’s Paul over for Hart at Fratton Park

Portsmouth have this evening sacked Paul Hart (who seems surprisingly happy) after what can only be described as a pathetic start to this Premier League campaign.

The south coast club are currently rooted to the bottom of the table with just seven points to their name and I think it’s fair to say that it’s not too big of a surprise that he is now gone. In fact the biggest surprise for me was why they even appointed him in the first place.

Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke proved to be the final straw for the Portsmouth backroom. Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant and Darren Ferguson are among the favourites to fill the not so hot seat.

I have to say I’m a bit sad to see Hart leave Fratton Park. He seemed like one of the more genuine managers in the Premier League and I’m sure he may one day prove a decent manager ….. in League Two. It was always going to be a difficult job considering the calibre of players which were offloaded in the summer, ie, Glen Johnson to Liverpool. Good luck to him anyway.

So, Pompey fans, who do you want to see installed as your new manager?
